Introducing the "Move to Archive" Action

Archiving emails with Email Scrubber has always required a clear decision about what to do with the files and attachments that come along for the ride. Until now, Email Scrubber offered three options:

  • Move to Case — Keep attachments with the active Case record.

  • No Action — Leave attachments orphaned for manual reconciliation.

  • Purge — Permanently delete attachments to reclaim storage.

These choices covered the basics: keep them, ignore them, or remove them. But they didn’t address a growing reality in many orgs—Cases are being aggressively scrubbed for storage efficiency, and the archive record is becoming the true long‑term source of truth.

That’s why we’re introducing a fourth option:

Move to Archive

Preserve attachments while decoupling them from the Case, relocating them to the newly created archive record.

This addition may look small, but it closes the last major behavioral gap. This creates a more intuitive, predictable, and audit‑friendly lifecycle—one that aligns with how organizations actually manage long‑running email threads, compliance requirements, and storage constraints.
